Later Sk8r for Color My Heart

I chose Outdoor Denim, Lagoon, and Pear for the color dare colors this week because they are the colors in Later Sk8r - a new boy's paper pack from CTMH. I made a layout because I needed to work on my sons scrapbook. I only had the paper swatches, so I made a layout using 6" strips. The layout is a Heart 2 Heart scrapbooking layout.

Here is what I stamped on the left page using second generation Outdoor Denim:

Here is my title cluster on the right page:

I used the Scroll Album WOTG stamp set for this layout. I stamped the chicken wire background image in Outdoor Denim ink on some Color-Ready Alphabet letters for the title.

I hope you can join us this week at Color My Heart. I'd love to see what YOU can create with these colors!

Materials used:
Cardstock: White, Slate
B&Ts: Later Sk8r
Stamps: Scroll Album WOTG
Ink: Outdoor Denim, Pear, Lagoon
Other: Color Ready Alphabet, ribbon and buttons from my friend (not CTMH)

Non-traditional Christmas Card

I haven't participated in any challenges for a while, so I thought, "What if I just combined them all into one card?" I don't do that very often, and I know I'll be breaking the rules on one or two challenges, but I think it was worth it. I LOVE this card! It is a VERY non-traditional Christmas card, but it makes me happy. Here are the challenges:

Pink Elephant - Anything Goes
Merry Monday - Tic Tac Toe (I did ribbon, cute, & designer paper)
Heart 2 Heart - Clean and Simple
Simon Says - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Psalm 73:26
Sentimental Sundays - Flowers, Flowers and more Flowers
Opus Gluei - Movies (I chose Mixed Nuts)
Crazy4Challenges - texture (my felt letters)
52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown - felt (letters)
Less is More - Paper Piercing
CAS-ual Fridays - Silver
A Day For Daisies - die cut (wooden butterfly)
Frosted Designs - bold colors and patterns
Black Tie Fridays - Animals (butterflies)
Color Throwdown - I used Smoothie, Sweet Leaf, Buttercup, and Cashmere
Inspired By - I was inspired by the pink and the little flowers
For Your Inspiration - pink and outdoors
Freshly Made Sketches
I think that's all. :)

Update: I decided to link up with Pile it On, who's having a "sunshine" challenge this week. I mean, why not pile on another one?

Here is a close up on the letters:

Here is the inside:

For the CAS-ual Fridays challenge, I colored my wooden butterfly with my silver metallic marker, then added Silver Glitz Glitter  Gel. I chose the movie Mixed Nuts for the Opus Gluei challenge because it is a Christmas movie that takes place in California, so it's warm and bright and sunshiny. It's one of my favorites.

For Heart2Heart, CAS-ual Fridays, and Less is More, where the challenges are Clean and Simple, I made sure to use minimal layers, and keep some white space. For Freshly Made, I made sure to add no distressing.

Materials used:
Cardstock: White
B&Ts: Dotty for You
Stamps: Art Philosophy, Card-Chatter Sympathy
Ink: Sweet Leaf, Smoothie
Markers: Sweet Leaf, Smoothie, Buttercup, Silver Metallic
Other: Cashmere Twill Ribbon, Garden Wooden Shapes, Silver Glitz Glitter Gel, Keepsake Felt Alphabet
Digi images: A Day for Daisies, Word Art Wednesday

Disclaimer: Some might say, when you use X-mas to replace Christmas, you are trying to x Christ out of Christmas. But here is a little known fact. In Greek, the word Christ starts with an X. Greek was the language he spoke. That's why X-mas is short for Christmas.

5 month layout

Here is the layout I made for my baby's 5 month pictures. I used the Victory paper pack and the sketch is from Heart 2 Heart scrapbooking.

I used the new Newspring Rubons I bought on clearance from my OBA. I love those. But what I love more is my new rubon tool! I can't tell you how easy it makes it! I am definitely going to use rubons more often now that I have it! The little doggy in the shoe is from one of the baby shower cards.

Materials used:
B&Ts: Victory
Other: Newsprint Rubons, Kraft Borders

Love Christmas Card

Here is a Christmas card I made for 4 challenges:

52 Christmas Card Throwdown
Our Creative Corner
Black Tie Fridays
The Play Date Cafe

I really like the look of this card. I hope you can see the sentiment and the texture. They're kind of light in the picture, but not so in real life.
I didn't use very many CTMH products for this card. We just didn't have the right colors. I have some old cardstock I used to use for scrapbooking that worked really well in my Cuttlebug. So I used those colors. The chipboard hearts and the sentiment and the kraft borders are from CTMH.

Materials used:
Cardstock: from my stash (not CTMH)
Stamps: Pear & Partridge cardmaking WOTG
Ink: Grey Wool
Other: ribbon bow from my stash (not CTMH), Kraft Borders, snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder (not CTMH)

7 Month Layout

I have been needing to finish my baby's first-year album, and he is already 16 months old. I also wanted to participate in some challenges. But I don't need any cards. So I tweaked them a little and came up with this layout:

The challenges are Dynamic Duos:

I used the cloud paper from Dotty for You to partake in the dessert option. I know there are some splashes of other colors, but I use a baby shower card to embellish each page, and I thought this one was so cute with this page!

Less is More - up in the air. I interpreted this inspiration by using clouds and the little bird in the tree. This is a clean and simple challenge, so I tried to make my layout as simple as possible with no distressing and minimal layers.

The Sweet Stop:
SSS198
I used this sketch for my left page and I put the little bird on it for the spin.

Crazy4Challenges:

I used this sketch as my right page, just adding a strip at the bottom for the photos.

I hope you like my layout. I know it will look much better once I get my photos developed and attached!

Color Dare 30 - Chantilly Card WOTG

Here is my card for this week's color dare - Pacifica and Sorbet. I have the Chantilly Card Workshop on the Go, but I haven't made it yet. I just pulled out the stamp set, and eyeballed the dimensions for the first card. I wanted to show that the same card design can work with different papers and colors. You could make hundreds of these cards using whatever papers you already have on hand - it's simple with our coordinating inks!

Materials used:
B&Ts: Elemental
Cardstock: Kraft, White Daisy
Stamps: Chantilly cardmaking WOTG
Ink: Pacifica, Sorbet
Other: Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon, Fanfare Level 2 Assortment

Cased Home Decor for Heart2Heart

I wanted to make some home decor for the Heart 2 Heart challenge. I had a bracket frame laying around, so I looked for an idea. I found this one from Pamela OConnor. I liked it so much that I barely changed anything! The printout is from prettydarncute.com.

I love this Bible verse. I hung it in my craft space, to remind me why I do what I do. I do it all for God, not for recognition. It's hard to remember that sometimes.

Materials used:
B&T: Dakota
Cardstock: White Daisy, Honey, Pear, Cotton Candy, Sky
Other: My Creations Bracket Frame, Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge
